报告题目:Big data Analysis on Japanese Express Home Delivery Services

内容简介:Japanese Express Home Delivery Service or TA-Q BIN is one of most sophisticated person-to-person home delivery services in the world. However, recently, the ratio of person-to-person services has become decreasing, instead e-commerce delivery service has become major parts. Thus, to improve both the performance and the service levels, they must focus upon big data analytics in every task. We have conducted a research project with Yamato Transport Co. Ltd., one of the major company in TA-Q BIN business in Japan. The project covers their business systems, which includes 1) Data analysis on truck scheduling; 2) Simulation analysis in delivery deposits; 3) Home delivery route optimization; and 4) Future placement design of large delivery centers. In the talk I would like to give the overview of the project and specific topics on transportation issues of the business.

报告人简介:Takao TERANO is a professor at Platform for Arts and Science, Chiba University of Commerce, and a professor emeritus of Tokyo Institute of Technology. He received BA degree in Mathematical Engineering in 1976 from University of Tokyo, M. A. degree in Information Engineering in 1978 from University of Tokyo, and Doctor of Engineering Degree in 1991 from Tokyo Institute of Technology.

His research interests include Agent-based Modeling, Knowledge Systems, Evolutionary Computation, and Service Science. He is a member of the editorial board of major Artificial Intelligence- and System science- related academic societies in Japan and a member of IEEE, AAAI, and ACM. He is also the president of PAAA.
